The speed with which the online environment evolves is an important feature of it. Changes are happening at an accelerated pace and new tools are continuously emerging, starting from the simple launch of a new Social Media platform to the integration of artificial intelligence. The way in which businesses navigate the digital space is thus a central aspect in understanding it, as well as in ensuring success within it.
In collaboration with the Center for Research in Communication and Social Innovation (CORE) within the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences (FSPAC) of Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), we have started an extensive study , through which we aim to clarify the aforementioned aspects. Thus, with its help, we want to provide a detailed picture of the ways in which digitalization has affected the activity and performance of the business environment in Romania. Moreover, we aim to collect accurate data and useful information about consumer behavior, the opportunities that companies have online and the mechanisms through which they can be speculated.
These objectives are confirmed by Ioan Hosu, director of the Center for Research in Communication and Social Innovation (CORE): “This study is the first in a series of comprehensive studies through which we want to obtain a clearer picture of the impact of digitalization on the functioning of companies in Romania. The data in this study try to capture the main changes that have occurred or are about to occur in the functioning of companies and in the behavior of consumers in the context of the digitization of communication processes”.
The initiative comes as a continuation of the research carried out by Klain at the beginning of 2022, which aimed to analyze the online presence of Romanian companies in the Top 1000 and the possibilities of small and medium-sized companies to stand out in this environment. While that review aimed to provide general statistical data on the frequency of digital use by the largest companies in Romania, this study will answer questions about how to use and ensure success. Thus, it will include multiple aspects of companies’ online presence, such as online marketing strategies, the impact of advertising campaigns, the efficiency of online sales channels, the use of social networks and much more.
The directions of the study are detailed by Valentin Bolboacă, the manager of our agency: “We started this study out of the desire to see the perspective of entrepreneurs and managers regarding the online environment. Thus, we aimed to identify how much they use digital platforms as tools to grow their business and how often they identify the opportunities they offer for the companies they coordinate. During the more than 15 years that I have been working in the online field, I have met companies that have grown exponentially due to their ability to take advantage of the advantages that the online environment provides. We want to bring this possibility out in front of those who have not yet accessed a communication strategy to achieve concrete results”.
