In a digital marketing agency, Juniors are of several types. In 2017, the job and their tasks are defined by terms and phrases coming from the English language. Most understand from the name of the role that he is “the youngest of the company”. Surely those who are strangers to these concepts will think that occupying the position only implies… occupying time. Today I choose to unravel the mystery: the junior has to perform various tasks seasoned with naivety, creativity and strange stories.
What are the tasks like?
The tasks are divided into two categories: those that come in your Inbox wrapped in pink paper, beautifully tied with a bow and those that you find in a black bag tied with string. It depends only on the angle from which you choose to look at things, but also on other factors such as: inspiration, time organization or weather conditions. Revised work and feedback encourage steps taken outside of the well-known comfort zone. The enthusiasm of accumulating new information and assimilation through exercise remain eternally active through thoroughly conducted learning sessions.
Some days end up crowned with great personal satisfaction, and other days I feel chased by a gray cloud, having to open the umbrella so that things turn out exactly as I want. In another mess of ideas, I think it depends on what kind of Junior you are (or want to be), on abilities and expectations correlated with achievements. I am the person who lets the facts speak and gives his time to other Juniors eager for verbal affirmation.
How is the relationship with colleagues?
The interpersonal relationship with colleagues is dynamic. When you are surrounded by creative people, it is very easy to find optimal ways to interact, but it is also easier to find unique sources of contradictory discussions. Creative people see things in the most diverse ways and do not accept the ideas of colleagues until after a meaningful debate. I don’t always know what I should do to make things pink, but on the other hand, I don’t like this color either. In an energetic group you adapt to an individual rhythm influenced by the collective one.
In short, I want to say that the life of a Junior in an agency is as beautiful as a childhood that you don’t want to end. Sometimes we organize teambuildings where we use Social Media platforms for personal promotion or we play Activity dressed as unicorns and zebras. We test 9 out of 10 ideas and grow together. Junior or senior, interns or specialists, we are all special agents of the KLAIN Digital Marketing Agency.
