In October, Klain turns 15 years old. Happy birthday to us! We’re not that old, we’ve basically reached adolescence, haven’t we? Well, these 15 years of activity have been sprinkled with a lot of work, development and prosperity. It was a journey of successes and defeats, with ups and downs, where the entire team had wonderful experiences both professionally and personally in terms of relationships and team activities.
To refresh our memory, we chose to make a retrospective of these 15 years of Klain to observe how the company has grown. Let’s get to know us better!
How was Klain born?
Our manager, Valentin Bolboacă, thanks to whom everything was born, came into contact with the online environment in 2005, deepening areas such as PPC and SEO campaigns. In 2007, he identified a need in the accommodation area in Cluj, analyzed the market, noticing its minuses. This is how CazareClujNapoca.ro was launched, an active portal, which is in the top results on Google to this day. Other internal projects followed, including: CazareSibiu.com, Cluj Travel, Travel, Cazare.info, BunăDimineața.ro and LeasingWEB.
Where does the name “Klain” come from?
This is where symbolism comes in. In our view, the letter “K” offers stability, steadfastness, firmness, self-confidence. We want to convey the fact that we as a team are in an area of stability and can offer our customers quality services.
The first customers who remained in Klain’s memory
In the first years, clients chose us based on the projects we were developing, which were at that time focused on the hotel area. Thanks to them, we have attracted customers and built a considerable portfolio, without realizing this magnitude.
Consequently, it was necessary to start modeling processes, internal procedures and a workflow. Once we established these things, we started communicating as an agency. Subsequently, the first customers who chose us were in the food area, clothing, but also in other fields.
One of them was focused on Asian food, we managed to increase their turnover considerably, while others were active in the organic products area. The first clients gave us the privilege of having a remarkable journey where the entire Klain team noticed how an idea becomes business.
About the customers present
Clothing, manufacturing, interior design, medical services, IT services, industrial property services, hotel establishments, food, construction, and even investment funds. Diversity. We were lucky enough to see businesses from many fields, which helped us get an overview when it comes to online marketing.
People are increasingly aware of the need for a marketing strategy and the need to involve an agency in their processes. In recent years, special projects have appeared that are very dear to us. You attract what you think, don’t you?
We are always looking to open our horizons to different areas and look for new challenges. Thus, in addition to technical or eCommerce projects, we had the opportunity to teach marketing courses for beginners and advanced, including courses on Social Media, organized for companies.

Memorable moments
Special moments in our history were born as simple and seemingly insignificant things, but looking back are those moments that now awaken nostalgia. At the team level, all the organized teambuildings were special events, where fun and laughter dominated.
The smiles were not only brought to us by the interaction outside the service, but also by the successes at the business level, managing to increase the turnover of many companies and support them in their online development. The special feature of this field is the need for in-depth involvement in the client’s business. Among other things, it implies the need to know all aspects, starting from the owner and continuing with the management, workflows and work process. Thus, with the help of our clients, we were able to have unique experiences, due to the diversity of their fields of activity.
Further, thanks to the positive feedback received from customers in all these early years, Klain becomes a Full Digital Marketing agency 9 years after the launch of the company in the field of online services, thus celebrating another remarkable moment in 2016.
The “Give a site” project was an unforgettable campaign, carried out during the winter holidays. Understanding that an NGO’s activities can be supported by their online communication, we have committed to creating a website at no cost to them.
Being a united team, we would like to include in this chapter the memorable activities related to the personal lives of colleagues. We are grateful that we had the chance to participate in the most important moments of their lives and that we were able to be with them in the moments that define them as people.
Articles in the press and appearance on TV
Due to the study we conducted on the online presence of the Top 1000 companies in Romania and on the possibilities of small and medium-sized companies to stand out in this environment, we were invited to the Profit TV show. Here we talked about the online presence of companies, debating this topic extensively. It was a great opportunity and we are glad that we managed to fulfill it.
As far as the press is concerned, we can be proud of successful appearances in several online publications, including: Transilvania Business, Wall-Street, Start-up, StartupCafe, Business24, Outsourcing Today, Club IT&C, Manager.ro, I Love Cluj, Cluj.info, Startup.info.
The current team and collaborators
We are dynamic, proactive, responsible, results-focused, strategically thinking people. It is said that you cannot collaborate with someone for more than a year if you do not have common principles or values, which are the very things that ensure our productive collaboration throughout this period.
The Klain team was built on 3 levels: the core team, the close collaborators and the punctual collaborators. Currently, it consists of 15 people, old colleagues who have been with Klain for more than 10 years, as well as new people who have recently joined the team.
Teambuilding
What happens in teambuilding remains in teambuilding. However, we are going to share with you some of the beautiful moments spent with the team outside of working hours.
On sunny days, our favorite activity is to start our workday with a breakfast or coffee out with the team. We partied at the chalets, we had fun in the clubs in other cities, we had a Christmas Party every year, we visited Maramureș and we walked with Mocănița, we climbed the Rodna Mountains, we had a hike at the Trascăului Fortress and we tested our Laser Tag skills. The pandemic did not stop us either, during which we organized online teambuildings that lasted several hours, because our discussions never end.
You would say that we have a lot of teambuildings. Well, we work a lot, but as a reward for our work we also have a lot of fun, and in 15 years the number of these outings has increased. Why? We realized how important is the relationship that is formed between colleagues outside of working hours. That’s when friendships develop, conversations take place on different topics, where you can get to know better the people with whom you spend so many hours a day and with whom you will work in a team. Jokes, advice, fun, friendship, collegiality. We love teambuildings!







What does Klain mean to everyone?
Future plans
From a team perspective, it has grown thanks to the internship we organized in the spring of this year, now having new members. In the near future, we want to increase our team of specialists again and be very organized in terms of learning. We aim to keep up to date with changes in this area at all times, as their pace has accelerated.
From a business perspective, we have structured the new departments within the company and we are trying to become better and better in order to fulfill our next goal, namely, to become among the top 10 marketing agencies in Romania. We have obtained a trademark in Europe, so we want to access international markets in the future.

What is the secret of Klain’s success?
We are a homogeneous, stable, balanced team, with common values, which tends towards quality. Our principles are based on perseverance, focus and vision. We are not executors, but we want to be part of our clients’ business in order to understand their vision and achieve remarkable results. We love what we do and we do it very well, and this is important for the realization of successful projects.
