Our colleague, Herecleea, has made a significant impact within the agency, fulfilling the role of Junior Office Manager, for about a month. Although we have known her for a short time, we can clearly see her involvement and devotion to our campaigns and projects. Read on for the interview and find out how her story began at the Klain agency.
- Let’s start with the basics. What position do you have within the Klain team and how long have you been with us?
Hello! I’m a Junior Office Manager and I’ve been with Klain for a month. I’m no longer the “new girl”, but I’m still at the beginning of the road in Klain. 🙂
- How did your adventure with the Klain team begin?
My adventure at Klain started a bit atypical. More precisely, I came to a job interview, but while discussing, the so-called “click” did not occur, that is, the open position in the agency was not in an area suitable for me. However, there was a sympathy and I agreed to help with a project related to accommodation. I wouldn’t want to go into details, but what I can say is that from now on I’m definitely not afraid to pick up the phone and call different people I don’t know. 🙂 The project was successfully completed, and the natural question was “ok, what’s next?”. Talking, we managed to find the right area for me, and now I’m here full-time. - How do you stay up to date with new trends and technologies in the field?
I read blog articles, follow certain content creators on social media, talk to people who are in step with current trends, and of course, attend classes. Even if some courses don’t have marketing as their main topic, they inspire me, develop my creativity and ultimately, help me look at things from a different perspective, which is very helpful in finding solutions to different situations.
- How has your vision of digital marketing evolved over the years and how have you adapted to changes in the industry?
Online presence is increasingly indispensable nowadays, and social media presence has become a normal thing. As a result, I am also present on social networks, albeit in a more discreet way. But, what I have noticed in the online environment is the need to design campaigns that are as well thought out (creative) as possible that convey certain emotions to captivate viewers.
- Tell us about an experience where you worked closely with other departments to successfully implement a campaign.
Being in the agency for a short time, I have not yet had the opportunity to get involved in many campaigns, but I can think of the project related to accommodation, where I worked closely with colleagues in the sales area and, respectively, technically, to populate a platform dedicated to tourists.
- How do you approach defining and measuring the success of a marketing campaign? What are your key metrics?
At the beginning of a campaign, well-defined, realistic objectives are set that are quantified over time. If in the end the proposed objectives were achieved, the results being at the level of expectations or even above expectations, from my point of view, the campaign was successful.
- What’s the most surprising and unexpected thing you’ve learned in your career so far?
Metaphorically, the fact that the deadline is “yesterday”. :)) Given that the field is dynamic, things are constantly evolving, and trends change quickly, it is important not to be “late to the party”. Thus, I learned that I have to be up to date with current trends and manage very carefully the time I allocate to tasks.
- How do you prioritize and manage your tasks in a dynamic and challenging environment like digital marketing?
In short, I use the To Do list so as not to forget a task. For each task I estimate a realistic deadline, and as a rule, I also respect it. The hard part becomes when other tasks intervene during the day, and some of them have a greater importance and priority than the tasks already on the agenda. At that moment it is good to be flexible in order to be able to adapt and find solutions, sometimes compromises, to solve priority things first. I also learned that it is good when estimating a deadline to take into account a small margin of extra time for unforeseen situations that may arise along the way.
- What are your favorite methods to maintain your creativity?
I like to take photos, videos and of course, edit the materials in programs from the Adobe package. Now, if I had to choose one thing from this list, I would definitely choose video editing. I’m passionate about music and yes, headphones are my good friends, and the idea of artistically combining moving images on a sound background is very interesting for me and helps me not only to maintain my creativity, but also to improve it. Every new trend or idea in videography opens a door for other ideas and perspectives.
- What is the campaign or project you are most proud of and why?
Even if I repeat myself, I will mention the project related to accommodation because it was the first project in which I was involved in the agency. And if someone told me earlier that I would end up calling a lot of people I don’t know, I would most likely have smiled and told them that the chances are very low because I am more shy of sorts.
- What do you think will be the future of digital marketing and what elements will be essential?
Creative campaigns that highlight the photo and video part will be essential, and the online presence of companies will be an increasingly practical thing regardless of their field of activity and size. In addition, it is very possible that other social networks and AI tools will also emerge that will capture attention.
- How do you like to spend time outside of work and how do these activities influence your vision of marketing?
In addition to my passions related to photography and videography, I like to dance. Dance is closely related to movement and emotions, respectively, and helps me develop my creativity. Sometimes, the dance troupe and I make videos that we can use for communication on social media, and this aspect helps me to observe more concretely things in front of the camera, not just behind the camera.
- What is the tool or thing without which you could not imagine a day of work in your department?
If I think about it, I couldn’t have a day at work without a laptop because I solve all the tasks using the laptop. :)) In addition, some meetings are online. So, a day without a laptop would be equal to a day of vacation.
- Tell a funny memory with Klain!
Hmm… Even though it wasn’t April 1st, a colleague played a trick on me by the book. :)) I was at the office, I left my laptop open and walked away from it for a while. When I came back, I saw that the laptop was updating and I was scared because I couldn’t remember if I had saved my work or not. In addition, I had tasks that I had to take care of without wasting time. Long story short, followed a funny discussion with a colleague who, after “scolding” me for not working, came to show me that the update screen was a fake one, because it was a prank made by him to relax the atmosphere in the office.
- If our team were a superhero, what would be our secret superpower?
Time travel. It’s important to know what didn’t go well enough in past projects, where there were the most difficulties or question marks (so, let’s go back in time). That helps us improve future work. Also, for each project it is important to have well-outlined objects and to anticipate some possible results (so, to move forward in time). And, it is important to stay in the present to be up to date with the current trends, but also to go a little into the future, thinking “what’s next?”, “Where are we going?”. - How would you like to see our team evolve and grow in the next 16 years?
I notice that there is a great potential for development, and my vision is that the agency will reach the top of the most important digital marketing agencies in the country, especially famous for its creativity and large portfolio of clients.
We are glad that Herecleea is part of our team and we can’t wait to see what it has in store for us in the future!
