Advantages of an internship

Most of the time, the chances of a recent graduate to get a job on the labor market, especially in the field in which he graduated, are minimal. More and more employers are looking for experienced people who don’t need a long time to get used to it and who can produce from the first days after hiring. Thus, the recent graduates end up accepting jobs that are not in the field for which they have prepared and they hope that one day luck will smile on them too.

From my own experience, I have come to the conclusion that in order to find a job in your specialization you need to start as soon as possible and not wait for college to finish to get a job. Indeed, in many fields there are more scholars than market demand, but this should not be an impasse for anyone. Also, real fields require deeper training, so most of a student’s time is occupied with study and lab hours.

Some people even manage to get a job in their field even without experience, but these are rarer cases. For the other students, there is still the possibility to enter an internship program, where they can gain experience and where they can learn what the job they have chosen really means. More and more companies offer such programs, paid or unpaid, where graduates have the opportunity to put into practice what they learned in their college years, but also to learn new things.

There are advantages on both sides, if both sides want to share their knowledge. An internship program should be based on the win-win principle, so that each side wins. Practices of the kind in which the practitioner is exploited and not given any new information are not indicated at all, although they are practiced in many places.

Employer advantages

The employer, through the internship program, offers a place where students/graduates can work and gain experience. Through it, the company receives additional workforce, and the tasks can be divided, so that everyone works efficiently and on time. Also, those who come to the internship have fresh knowledge, are eager to work and want to assert themselves as well as possible. After the internship period, the employer may select one or more interns to whom to offer a stable job, based on the observations made during the internship.

Benefits of the practitioner

As a student it is the easiest way to enter the labor market, in the field studied. They have the opportunity to learn directly from those with experience and can see what their job really means. As a practitioner you must take full advantage of this period, because there is the possibility of being hired at the end of it.

Within Klain, so far, we have already had 2 internship programs as a content creator. During them, we held weekly meetings to provide feedback based on the written articles and to provide useful information about and for this job. As a result of the internship programs, we were joined by a new colleague and we have two new external collaborators. We do internship programs 2 times a year, because we need fresh workforce in the projects we carry out, but also because we are aware that it is quite difficult for a recent graduate to find work in the field without having a minimum experience. If you are interested, we are waiting for your CV at [email protected], and when we have an open position we will contact you.
